Laguna Beach Tennis Academy is operated by Tennis Beast LLC in Laguna Beach, California. This page explains what this website collects, why, where it goes, and how to have it removed. It covers this website only — not the City of Laguna Beach's registration system, which has its own policy and its own copy of your details.

What we collect, and only when you give it to us

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not buy data about you. Everything personal on this site comes from a form you chose to fill in.

  • Trial, contact and inquiry forms: first name, last name, email, phone, the program you said you were interested in, and your message if you wrote one.
  • Reserving a camp or a season place: the same contact details plus the player name or names you enter and the session you chose.
  • Automatically, with every submission: the page you submitted from, a one-off reference number for that submission, and your IP address. The IP address is used to rate-limit the form against bots and is not stored with your record.

Forms include a hidden field that people never see and bots usually fill. If it is filled in, the submission is discarded.

Children

Our programs start at age three, so much of what families tell us is about a child. We collect that information from the parent or guardian, never from the child — this site is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting their data, and it has no account, login, chat or upload a child could use. What we ask for about a player is their name and, where a program requires it, their age. We do not publish a player's full name alongside their photograph.

Photographs and video of players are handled under our media consent policy rather than this page. You can tell any coach at any time that you do not want your child photographed, or that you want an image already published taken down, and we will act on it. That instruction is separate from any photo question the City asks you at registration, and you may answer the two differently.

Where it goes

A submission is emailed to the LBTA coaching team and stored in our own database so that nothing is lost if an email fails. That is the whole journey. Specifically:

  • Resend — delivers the notification to us and the acknowledgement to you.
  • Supabase — stores the submission record.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs.

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it. We do not pass it to other tennis businesses, and we do not put you on a mailing list you did not ask to be on. We do use the Meta advertising pixel described below, which is a form of cross-context behavioural advertising — it lets us show LBTA ads to people who have visited this site. You can switch that off for your own browsing; how to do it is in the advertising section below.

Registration and payment happen at the City, not here

This site never takes a payment and never asks for a card. Registration and payment for LBTA programs run through the City of Laguna Beach Recreation. When you follow that link you are on the City's system, giving your details to the City under the City's terms, and the City holds the money. We receive from the City only what it shares with us in order to run the class your child is in.

Analytics, cookies and advertising

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and counts page views without building a profile of you. Our own event tracking records that a form was opened or submitted, never what you typed — no name, email or phone is ever sent to analytics.

This site stores one item in your browser: whether you chose the junior or the adult view, so the pages you see match what you came for. It is local to your browser, it is not a cookie, and clearing your browser data removes it.

When we are running advertising, a Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel loads and does set cookies, so that we can tell whether an ad led to an inquiry and can show ads to people who have visited. You can turn that off in your Meta ad settings or with any standard tracker blocker. Images on this site are served from Cloudinary and fonts are served from this site itself, so no font request goes to a third party.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept while there is a reasonable chance we will speak again, and family records while a player is enrolled with us and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax and accounting. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will, unless the law requires us to keep a record of a transaction.

Your rights, in California and elsewhere

California residents may ask what personal information we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You may also ask us not to sell or share it: we do not sell it, and if you ask us not to share it for advertising we will exclude you from our ad audiences — email support@lagunabeachtennisacademy.com and it is done. We will not treat you differently for asking. If you are outside California and have equivalent rights where you live, ask anyway and we will apply them.

To exercise any of these, email support@lagunabeachtennisacademy.com or call (949) 534-0457. We answer within one working day. We may need to check you are who you say you are before we hand over or delete a record, and a parent or guardian is the one who can make the request for a child.

Security, honestly stated

Submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are held in access-controlled services. No system is perfect and we are not going to claim ours is. If something involving your information ever goes wrong, we will tell you rather than wait to be asked.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes to what we collect or where it goes will be said plainly rather than buried.
